This image explains a deep concept in Islam called Qadr (Divine Decree)—and what seems like a “paradox” (something that looks contradictory but isn’t).
🔹 Core Idea
“Everything is already written by Allah, yet you are still required to act.”
At first glance, this feels confusing:
If everything is already decided…
Then what is the point of effort, choice, or responsibility?
🔹 The Hadith (Key Evidence)
The quote refers to a narration from Sahih al-Bukhari (6596):
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Act, for everyone will be facilitated toward what he was created for.”
Meaning:
You don’t know your destiny.
But your actions are part of that destiny.
Allah makes the path easier based on what you choose.
🔹 Resolving the “Paradox”

🔄 Your Inner State Shapes the Outcome
Your mindset (sabr, tawakkul, effort) influences what happens next.
That next phase is also part of Qadr—but tied to your response.
👉 So:
Event = fixed
Response = chosen
Outcome = shaped by both
🔹 Simple Analogy (Like the Image 🔨)
The hammer hits metal in both cases:
Left: It shatters → weak material
Right: It shapes → strong metal
👉 The same test, but:
One breaks
One becomes stronger
🔹 Practical Understanding
Islam teaches a balanced model:
❌ Wrong extremes:
“Everything is written → I’ll do nothing” (fatalism)
“Everything depends on me → no need for Allah” (arrogance)
✅ Correct belief:
Trust Allah’s plan (Tawakkul)
Still take action (Amal)

📜 The Event is Written
Allah already knows and has written everything:
Your tests
Your opportunities
Your life events
👉 Example: Two people both lose a job (same event).

⚖️ Your Response is Your Choice
One becomes patient, improves skills, grows stronger.
The other becomes bitter, gives up.
👉 Same event, different reactions.

Final Insight

You are not responsible for what happens to you

👉 But you are fully responsible for how you respond

And that response:Defines your character Influences your future

Determines your akhirah (afterlife)

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
